Why we celebrate Neomi Wambui Ng'ang'a this #wcw

Today being women crush Wednesday we celebrate our own Neomi Wambui Ng'ang'a
Neomi Wambui Ng'ang'a is a Kenyan actress, Plus Size Model, MC, Fashion Blogger & Fashion Ambassador. She grew up in Huruma in a family of eight children. After completing high school, Neomi enrolled for a course in hospitality in 2006 where she did not complete her studies and she started acting out set books at the Kenya National Theatre (KNT).
“I realized I had talent. Acting just came naturally to me,”
Her time at Kenya National Theatre provided her with a good foundation that led her into showbiz and her ambition saw her conquer the world of TV. Neomi got a role as a bubbly, busybody hairdresser in the TV series Wash and Set. This was her breakthrough role and after that, calls kept streaming in for more roles. She has since acted in other TV series including Noose of Gold, Demigods, Lies that Bind and Sumu la penzi, radio and now fashion. Neomi is now in her 20s and has been acting close to nine years. While acting she got an opportunity to work as a radio presenter at one FM for four years.  Neomi decided to quit radio at the beginning of the year to pursue another passion – fashion. She has always been an advocate for plus size women – she was the brand ambassador for the campaign Plus Size Fabulosity, and modeled the plus-size collection for fashion designer Wambui Mukenyi.
Her struggle in finding clothes that flattered her figure led her to start a fashion line, StyleByNeomi which makes custom-made clothes for plus-size women. She has dressed top Kenyan celebrities like Jacky Vike, Avril, Jacqueline Nyaminde, Cate Kirwa etc.  Neomi says a lot of curvy women are self-conscious and end up dressing badly as they try to hide their trouble spots but she encourages them to be proud of themselves.
“Everything is possible. Look where I have come from. Women should strive to be successful and independent."
